Jamaica getting ready to be caught up in the Flow

Kingston,Jamaica - Finally more fibreoptic cables landing into the island at like 50%-70% cheaper than before. Love that. What does that mean really? Cheaper rates for higher internet speeds and in Flow's case, also 250 digital cable channels on offer as well as telephony. They've done their thing in Bahamas already and are now about to launch and do their thing.
And we hope they do it right..so when you order 512k more you do get it and not half that speed along with a bunch of excuses. I don't about anyone else, but ain't competition grand. So we here high speed internet starting from US$10 and up. Somebody pinch me.
I hopethis competition which will see rates for T1 fall further from it's current US$2,000 and just two years ago was US$13,000 - that this will truly spur an internet culture islandwide in schools, homes, in entertainment and ohh yeah in business too. The more Jamaicans and Jamaicans businesses that can benefit from this access the better.
Now all we need is for the access devices aka computers to drop too. We can effect even near Nirvana if we really want to.
