Business heading online in bigger numbers...and they had better

Internet News, USA -Companies that sell products and services to other businesses are learning that there are a bunch of opportunities for generating leads, finding new customers and retaining current ones as well as branding on the Web.

Many companies who are looking to market themselves to other companies via the Web are now building better websites, seeking to get into search engine marketing, email marketing, blogs, podcasting, Webinars, social networks, behavioral targeting and video applications.

In fact BtoB Magazine and Forrester has been watching the trend and offers some numbers to substantiate it. They recently conducted a global study among both consumer and business-to-business marketers and found that 72% plan to increase their online spending in 2006. Similarly, The Economist Intelligent Unit recently found that 88% of companies worldwide plan to raise their online ad spending over the next two years, with 10% of them planning to invest 30% or more of their budgets online.

JAMAICAN Context:With the advent of higher speed internet access for much cheaper rates, making it more accesible to alot more people, more Jamaicans will be doing what their American and European counterparts so - live online and doing a whole range of things there. Hence Jamaican companies seeking to reach this already fragmented and curious consumer will have tno choice to do more online. They will have to build better websites, advertise on hot online properties ofering online community and internet broadcasts. source: emarketer.com
