Jamdeal.com buys yardsalejamaica.com

Jamaica- The owners of Jamdeal.com formerly reggaebay.com has bought yardsalejamaica.com their only real Jamaican competitor in the online auction and marketplace business. Insider sources say that the yardsalejamaica.com deal was pretty much a giveaway to Jamdeal, and that Jamdeal.com may have bought their rival to get rid of them, so as to maintain their position in the online space. The owner of yardsalejamaica.com was Jamie Ranston, formerly of HomeViewJamaica, currently at JUMPTV International.

Sex Guide Site Hot5Caribbean unveils Jamaicans sexual hypocrisy

Jamaica - It was interesting enought that I happened upon this Sex Guide blog called HOT5Caribbean which bills itself as a personal guide to sex under the Caribbean sun - but when it had a news story that over 21,000 Jamaican adultfriend finders, then I was like, OK THEN! Not only do we have Jamaicans looking for sex and swinging online but we also have a sex guide blog for the Caribbean. When I had a look at the blog site, it had a HOT5 Sex SItes of the Week, a listing of Jamaican Adult Services and also some event.

Then again we also have smutvibes.com and top5bikini.com also recently out of the Caribbean. And for those who do not know,adultfriendfinders.com is a huge online socialcommunity site that's all about sex and swinging. Who said Jamaica was boring, you just have to blow off a few lids. LOL. read the rest of the story here: hot5caribbean

Thanks for the THROWBACK memories Cable & Wireless

It's November 8, 1984. You walk into a Cable & Wireless office, the one on Half Way Tree Road. You are there to apply for a phone, a landline. You are handed a photocopy of an original application form. You sit, complete it, hand it in to their "customer service rep" (the words customer service, used very loosely here)and hope. If you darken church doors on Sundays, you pray. You Hope and pray that you can get a landline within the year as the demand is high and Cable & Wireless is moving at a pace suitable only to them, they are of course the arrogant monopoly.

Fast Foward, November 8, 2006. You walk into a Cable & Wireless Office or bMobile outlet. You are there to apply for a transfer of your existing landline and DSL service, it's on the same exchange, so it should be quick, you are told. You stand, complete the form and hand it in to their "customer service rep"( again words loosely used) and hope.If you darken church doors on Sundays, you pray. Hope and pray that your application will actually make it on the system. Then a week passes and the very bland "customer service rep" says "Miss, we're experiencing a backlog of those orders, please give us a few more days to get your request on our system." Now I, having darkened Church door only for weddings and funerals over the last 5 years, am not sure that I deserve to ask for anything by prayer, but I do it, nonetheless. I pray that my phone line and DSL will be transfered by month end and maybe before the Christmas madness. It's comforting, though it shouldn't be that I'm not the only one, waiting, hoping and praying.

So THANKS Cable & WIRELESS, for the throwback memories, brought on by my present day experiences. As they say, the more things change....finish it for me......
P.S. I heard from a good source inside the belly of the behemoth, that the reason for the backlog is..."the prepaid home fone service is selling like crazy." Now that's special. I guess they are happy that they have resonated with consumers, at least for this product. Funny it's 2006 and consumers want a Cable & Wireless service because it saves them money,a fact previously not associated with the company.
